The Twenty-Second International Conference on Design Principles & Practices invites designers, artists, architects, makers, creative practitioners, curators, researchers, educators, policymakers, technologists, and community leaders to share work that approaches creative practice as a way of thinking, making, researching, teaching, organizing, and intervening in the world. The 2028 special focus asks how creative practitioners can respond to the urgent conditions of contemporary life while remaining attentive to people, places, materials, systems, and futures. It frames creative practice as a discipline, a research practice, a public responsibility, and a means of social transformation. To be careful is to create with responsibility and attention to consequences. To be creative is to imagine and make otherwise. To be critical is to question inherited assumptions, institutional systems, technological promises, and the social effects of creative decisions.
The Twenty-Second International Conference on Design Principles & Practices features the Research Network Conceptual Framework.
