Alana Clifton-Cunningham is an education-focused academic, lecturer, and Discipline Lead in Fashion at UNSW. Her teaching and leadership are informed by more than two decades of experience across higher education, with a focus on fashion and textiles, curriculum development, student engagement and collaborative learning. Her research and creative practice explore making, materiality, clothing waste and circular design, with particular interest in redesign, textile remanufacture and workwear. Alana has contributed to nationally and internationally recognised projects, including ARC Linkage research, and her work has been exhibited in major Australian and international contexts. She is also engaged in broader academic leadership, supervision and community-based initiatives that connect fashion education with sustainability, innovation and practice-led inquiry.
