Frank Long

Frank Long is a designer and entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of technology, research, and human experience. He is the founder of Equimetrics, a company developing advanced biometric and performance monitoring technology for the global equine industry, and owner-director of Frontend.com, a Dublin-based design innovation studio that helps organisations design and deliver complex digital products and services.

Frank holds a First Class Honours degree in Industrial Design and a Master’s degree in Design from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin. He began his career in the 1990s as a designer with LG Electronics European Design Center, gaining early experience in large-scale consumer technology helping shape his long-standing interest in human-centred design and the role of user experience in shaping successful technology products.

Through Frontend.com, Frank has worked with organisations worldwide across sectors including medical technology, enterprise software, fintech, and connected devices, helping teams translate complex technologies into usable and commercially successful products.

Alongside his professional work, Frank has maintained strong links with the academic design community. He has collaborated with and supported students from institutions including NCAD, the University of Limerick, Trinity College Dublin and has founded popular local design events such as DesignFix and DEFUSE. Frank is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the Institute of Designers in Ireland (IDI), where he was elected a Fellow in 2015 in recognition of his contribution to design practice.
