Ben Readman is a visual artist, design consultant, and educator who has exhibited internationally and completed residencies in Ireland, France, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, and China. His work is held in public and private collections including the OPW, Mason Hayes & Curran, Key Capital Investment, Deutsche Bank, and Petch Osathanugrah (Dib Museum of Contemporary Art, Bangkok).
His solo exhibitions include Circadian (DLR Lexicon, 2016), Adaptation (Toot Yung Art Centre, Bangkok, 2014), Diaclasis (Goethe Institut, Dublin, 2012), and Of This Earth (Rua Red, Dublin, 2011). He received the Mourlot Prize for Contemporary Painting in Marseille (2010) and won an IDI Award (2021). His film work has been shown at IMMA (2023), COP28 Dubai (2023), and The Loop Festival, Barcelona (2025).
As an educator, Ben has lectured in fine art, visual communication, graphic design, and film production across several institutions. He has led participatory art projects funded by the CDETB, Bru Youth Services, the Dublin 12 and Ballymun Drugs Task Forces, and Dublin City Council.
From 2010–2015, he was Artistic Director and Chairperson of BLOCK T, a multidisciplinary arts organisation supporting over 100 practitioners through exhibitions, studios, and an education programme. Under his leadership, BLOCK T hosted over 500 events and received multiple awards, including the Dublin Contemporary Noone Casey Award (2011), the Dublin Living Award for Cultural Attraction of the Year (2011), and the David Manley Entrepreneur Award (2013).
Ben has also worked as a creative director, illustrator, and consultant for non-profits, agencies, and corporate clients. He has judged major awards including the Arthur Guinness Projects and chaired the New Now Graduate Awards (2020–2023). He is an external examiner at Griffith College Dublin, Co-Chair of the IDI Graduate Awards, a board member of Visual Artists Ireland (2019–2025), and sits on the TU Dublin Arts and Humanities Faculty. He is currently Programme Coordinator and lecturer on the BA (Hons) Visual Communication at Technological University Dublin.
